Building a Stronger, Safer, and Sustainable Guyana

WIN is committed to modern infrastructure, resilient drainage, and a cleaner, greener nation.

Our Commitment to Infrastructure

Guyana’s infrastructure challenges, from crumbling roads to flooding and inadequate drainage, impact daily life, economic growth, and safety. WIN is committed to developing modern, climate-resilient infrastructure that serves all regions of the country, including hinterlands and urban centres.

interland & Indigenous Infrastructure

  • Reliable Transportation Systems: Build all-weather roads and bridges; provide free scheduled boats for schoolchildren in riverine communities.

  • Hinterland Marketplace: Digital and print platforms for Indigenous crafts and products.

  • Sustainable Tourism & Heritage Sites: Eco-friendly visitor centres, exhibitions, craft markets, and guided trails.

  • Training & Development: Decentralise training institutions like GSA and technical institutes to strengthen local economies.

  • Indigenous Credit Union: Loans and financial support for agriculture, ecotourism, and small businesses.

Elderly & Community Facilities

  • Palms Geriatric Home: Rebuild as a modern facility with adequate amenities and personnel; explore additional elderly care homes in all regions.

  • Vagrant-Free Streets Initiative: Build a 500-person capacity shelter with reintegration services for the homeless.

Solid Waste Management & Clean Streets

  • Solid Waste Management Act: Develop a standalone law for national implementation.

  • Waste-to-Energy Pilots: Implement anaerobic digestion systems in areas with high energy demand.

  • Recycling & Circular Economy: Support upcycling businesses, school programs, and community initiatives.

  • Public Awareness Campaigns: Promote behaviour change towards cleaner communities.

  • Clean & Green Beautification Projects: Remove derelict vehicles, restore public gardens, renovate Colonial buildings like Stabroek Market, and overhaul street signage.

Drainage & Climate-Resilient Infrastructure

  • Flood-Resilient Drainage: Upgrade canals and stormwater systems across urban and rural areas.

  • Smart Water Management: Invest in technology to monitor and manage water flow to reduce flooding.

  • Climate Adaptation: Prioritize Indigenous and rural communities in drainage and infrastructure improvements.

When we invest in nationhood, we build resilient communities and a cleaner, greener Guyana.
